Highland Information Resources Service (HIRS)

Through HIRS you can order a range of leaflets, posters, models and other resources to support you in your smoke free activities. Resources are free to use or borrow, and are delivered to your local NHS property.

Highland Substance Awareness Toolkit

The Highland Substance Awareness Toolkit (H-SAT) is an online resource for young people, parents and carers, and professionals, providing information about tobacco, alcohol and drugs. Lesson plans are available within the professionals section.

ASH Scotland e-learning and resources

A range of smoking and tobacco related e-learning opportunities and resources are available, including tobacco-free lesson plans and resources for schools.

Locally delivered training

The health improvement team offer a range of training, of which the smoking and tobacco related training comprises a blended learning approach of e-learning prior to a face to face session.

All course information and booking is done through NHS Highland’s LearnPro Course Booking System and the details of when and where the courses are running can be found here as well as how to book on to them.

Adverse effects of vaping

Health professionals and others should report any adverse effects of vaping e-cigarettes to the MHRA via the Yellow Card reporting system.
